What a patent search covers
- Novelty search. Before filing, we look for earlier patents, published applications and other disclosures close to your invention, so you can judge its chances and shape the claims.
- Freedom to operate. Before launching a product in Iran, we look for patents in force that your product might fall within, and explain the risk in practical terms.
- Validity search. If a competitor's patent blocks you, we search for earlier material that could support an opposition, a cancellation action or a negotiated outcome.
- State of the art. For research and investment decisions, we map what is already patented in a technical area.
Choosing the technical field
The wizard asks you to pick one of the eight sections of the International Patent Classification, from A (human necessities) to H (electricity). It is only a starting point. Many inventions cross several fields, and part of our work is to identify the precise groups where the closest documents are likely to sit.
Design search request
For products whose appearance matters, a design search looks for earlier registered designs that look similar. Choose the Locarno class if you know it, describe what makes the design distinctive, and we take it from there.

Is my invention safe if I describe it in the wizard?
The wizard only prepares an email in your own email app; nothing is stored on this website. Even so, share only a short, non-confidential outline at first. We agree how to handle confidential detail before you send it.
When will the instant patent search be available?
